ISTANBUL CONFERENCE
A virtual event for Reichman University & Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy
In early August 2023, a mere six weeks after the Wagner Group rebellion and amid the Jeddah summit aiming to end Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Wikistrat ran an interactive roleplaying simulation to explore the potential consequences of a Russian defeat on the world stage.
For ten consecutive days, AHS alumni collaborated with renowned experts from around the globe and engaged in public debates and secret negotiations to promote the interests of their actors throughout the ever-changing situation. Just like real decision makers, the participants attended exclusive webinars with briefings on the developing events from each country's perspective.
In May 2022, Wikistrat ran an online negotiation simulation for Reichman University (RU) and the Emirati Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA).
This event was part of a partnership established between the two academic institutions in 2021 in the spirit of the Abraham Accords.
In the simulation, mixed groups of AGDA and RU students played the roles of ten international players, conducting online negotiations and interactions for the resolution of the international crisis prompted by the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
In the past couple of years, AHS and Wikistrat have been holding interactive simulations as the climax event of their SSS program.
These include three types of activities: individual policy writing, collaborative work on Wikistrat's platform and in-person presentation of the finalized courses of action.
This simulation explored how the US would interpret a rising Chinese naval presence in the Persian Gulf, the actions that decision makers can take and the downstream consequences of each chosen strategy, as the simulation's scenario evolved according to the participants' decisions.
